The steakhouse — typically American! In my mind (I don’t really know why) it never really invaded me with positive feelings… Maybe it is the name ‘steakhouse’ that never quite inspired me. To be completely honest with you, going out to have a ‘steak’ had never excited me before. But I think I have been deluded all these years! The steakhouse can actually be pretty damn good and ‘classe’ (at least the one I am talking about right now) and you have other things than steak! wooop wooop!
Burton & Doyle is located in Great Neck, Long Island, in the region that inspired the book ‘The Great Gatsby’. I had the chance to try this restaurant because this little town is where my darling is from, and his father was celebrating his birthday that night. On the table that night, we had: Maine lobster (1kg each, such a feast!) and a huuuge seafood platter to share (the seafood was extremely fresh and absolutely amazing). The wine list was also surprisingly very good and the wine we chose was excellent (we selected the Chardonnay from California, 2011 – fruity and dry – marvellous). You want to know if I would recommend this place? Yes, I am very positive. The waiters took extra good care of us. The dishes were copious and the quality was up to high standards.
All in all, this restaurant was great! It is surely a bit far from Manhattan but if you want to see a huge and tasty Maine lobter on your plate, it is definitely worth the hike! Meanwhile, if you need to fill your day with some activities, you can go to the ‘Americana Mall’ where many celebrities flock to go shopping on its luxurious strip… Gucci, Tiffany’s, Prada etc, you’ll find all the high end brands you want but also some more affordable options.
